Stimulus-
The songs and sounds that inspired me for my invention were a band called Greenday and clips of music from the Lord of The Rings film. The contrast between the slow Greenday songs and the variations from the fast clips of music from the film are what make up my piece.

The instruments that I have used in my invention are an acoustic twelve string guitar for the main arpeggio chords with a bass guitar and a piccolo for the melody and harmony. For the change over to the faster part of the piece I have used a standing floor drum and then a vamp and melody on the piano.
Significant Changes-
In the beginning I changed a lot of my music. I had a melody in mind but could not fit it to any sort of music so I changed to my guitar chords and made my invention from there. I also changed my melody from violin to a piccolo.
Use of Technology-
For recording all my pieces together I used a computer with the midi logic 4.0 programme on it. This helped me a lot as I was not sure what all the pieces would sound like together.
Use of Extemporisation-
I did not use any extemporisation in my invention.
Recording arrangements-
I used the computer midi logic programme for recording and a tape recorder to tape my invention from the computer so I could take it home to listen to.
Process-
I started off by listening to my music at home and then gathered ideas from there. The idea of arpeggio chords on the guitar came from my favourite Greenday song Time of your Life. My melody came from playing about with the notes of my chords. Repetition was used with my chords as it is the same over and over again. My melody for the slow piece of music is Scottish and has scotch snap in it. There is also a harmony in the melody and repetition as well. The drum pattern is repeated and the melody for the faster piece of music has scotch snap and dotted rhythms to.
